Kevin Federline, was yesterday taking a break from filming of Channel 9's new weightloss series Excess Baggage on the Gold Coast yesterday.
He is laidback, articulate, friendly and not afraid to laugh at himself.
Yes, he's stacked on some weight -- he's lost some too. Now he's trying to make healthy choices.
The father of five is at his best when he talks about his children, three sons -- two with Spears -- and two daughters. He literally lights up.
Part of the attraction of being here is that he's joined by his partner Victoria Prince and their five-month-old daughter Jordan Kay. His boys, he hopes, will visit later.
Frankly, he's a little nervous about a lifesaving challenge involving a paddleboard, swim and run at Broadbeach this afternoon.
Yes, he's read some strange things about himself.
"Not recently," Federline, 33, laughs. "It's been quite some time since I've read anything anyone's written about me."
He reconsiders: "Here's something. It happened a couple of months ago, when I first got here.
"I read I'd gone night swimming, naked, in a hotel pool in Melbourne."
Did it happen? "No."
Was Federline in Melbourne?: "I was there."
And did he swim: "I did. I just don't know where the bit about me not wearing anything came from."
Excess Baggage films on the Gold Coast until Saturday. The show pairs celebrities with ordinary Australians for a get-fit challenge series.
The winners share a $100,000 prize -- half for the home contestant, the other donated to the celebrity's charity of choice.
